With today’s rising fuel prices, airlines have started adding extra fees for every little thing on your trip. These fees are charged at the airport - not when you buy your ticket - and will often not be covered if you’re traveling with an organization.

  • First Checked Bag: $15 on most airlines. Free on Airtran, Alaska, Jetblue, Midwest, Southwest, and a few others.
  • Second Checked Bag: $25 on most airlines except Southwest. $10-$20 on Airtran.
  • Snacks & Beverages: Free except on US Airways and Spirit. Some drinks may cost extra.
  • Meals: Anywhere from $3-$10 depending on the airlne. Some airlines don’t offer meals.
  • Ticket Changes: $50-$150 except on Southwest (free)
